MEDITATION:      max lucado

Our Savior kneels down and gazes upon the darkest acts of our lives. But rather than recoil in horror, he reaches out in kindness and says, 'I can clean that if you want.' And from the basin of his grace, he scoops a palm full of mercy and washes our sin.

LORD, HELP ME TO RELAX.

TAKE FROM ME THE TENSION THAT MAKES PEOPLE IMPOSSIBLE.

TAKE FROM ME THE FEARS THAT DO NOT ALLOW ME TO VENTURE.

TAKE FROM ME THE WORRIES THAT BLIND MY SIGHT.

TAKE FROM ME THE DISTRESS THAT HIDES YOUR JOY.

HELP ME TO KNOW THAT I AM WITH YOU, THAT I AM IN YOUR CARE,

THAT I AM IN YOUR LOVE, THAT YOU AND I ARE ONE.

SCRIPTURE:        Matthew 15:21-28

21Jesus left that place and went away to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came out and started shouting, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is tormented by a demon.” 23But he did not answer her at all. And his disciples came and urged him, saying, “Send her away, for she keeps shouting after us.” 24He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26He answered, “It is not fair to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs.” 27She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” 28Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed instantly.

Morning Prayer

LORD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, WE COME PRAISING YOU FOR YOUR CREATION AND ALL THE BLESSINGS YOU HAVE GIVEN US. EVEN IN THE MIDST OF THESE DIFFICULT DAYS WHEN WE OFTEN SUFFER AND LONG FOR YOUR APPEARING, WE KNOW THAT YOU ARE WITH US, AND YOUR SPIRIT COMFORTS US. THERE ARE MANY WHO NEED YOUR TENDER TOUCH, LORD. YOU KNOW THEM ALL, EVEN AS WE LIFT US THOSE WE KNOW. HELP OUR WORLD TO RECOVER FROM THE THREATS OF VIRUSES, THOSE CAUSED BY THE COVID-19 AND THOSE CAUSED BY OUR HURTING HEARTS. HEAL OUR WOUNDS, MOST PRECIOUS GOD. GRANT TO THOSE WHO ARE LONELY YOUR COMFORTING LOVE. GIVE TO THOSE WHO ARE FRIGHTENED YOU REASSURING PEACE. GRANT TO THOSE WHO ARE FACING UNEMPLOYMENT AND UNCERTAINTY THE CONFIDENCE THAT OUR FAITH OVERCOMES THE WORLD.

LORD, WHOSE HEART IS FILLED WITH LOVE, CLEANSE OUR HEARTS OF ANGER AND VENGEANCE. CREATE IN US NEW HEARTS THAT ARE FILLED WITH YOUR LOVE. REVITALIZE OUR FAITH AND OUR HOPE TO SEE THAT YOU ARE WORKING IN ALL THINGS FOR GOOD AND LET US PROCLAIM BY FAITH EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE NOT YET SEEN IT.

WE ASK THESE PRAYERS IN THE NAME OF JESUS WHO TAUGHT US TO PRAY, SAYING…

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

Our Father, which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy Name.  Thy Kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, As we

forgive them that trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, But

deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, The power, and

the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

SCRIPTURE:  Genesis 45:1-15

45Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all those who stood by him, and he cried out, “Send everyone away from me.” So no one stayed with him when Joseph made himself known to his brothers. 2And he wept so loudly that the Egyptians heard it, and the household of Pharaoh heard it. 3Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph. Is my father still alive?” But his brothers could not answer him, so dismayed were they at his presence. 4Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come closer to me.” And they came closer. He said, “I am your brother, Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt. 5And now do not be distressed, or angry with yourselves, because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life. 6For the famine has been in the land these two years; and there are five more years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest. 7God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for you many survivors. 8So it was not you who sent me here, but God; he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house and ruler over all the land of Egypt. 9Hurry and go up to my father and say to him, ‘Thus says your son Joseph, God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not delay. 10You shall settle in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near me, you and your children and your children’s children, as well as your flocks, your herds, and all that you have. 11I will provide for you there—since there are five more years of famine to come—so that you and your household, and all that you have, will not come to poverty.’ 12And now your eyes and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see that it is my own mouth that speaks to you. 13You must tell my father how greatly I am honored in Egypt, and all that you have seen. Hurry and bring my father down here.” 14Then he fell upon his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, while Benjamin wept upon his neck. 15And he kissed all his brothers and wept upon them; and after that his brothers talked with him.

BLESSING AND SENDING TO SERVE IN LOVE:

Hear these words from Ephesians 1:3 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.” Go in the peace of Christ, knowing you have received every spiritual blessing, and share those blessings with those around you.

In the Name of God our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Amen.

          God be with you TILL WE MEET AGAIN;
          By His counsel's guide, uphold you,
          With His sheep in love enfold you;
          God be with you TILL WE MEET AGAIN.

          God be with you TILL WE MEET AGAIN!
          Neath His wings protecting hide you,
          Daily manna still provide you;
          God be with you TILL WE MEET AGAIN!

          God be with you TILL WE MEET AGAIN!
          When life’s perils thick confound you,
          Put His arms unfailing round you;
          God be with you TILL WE MEET AGAIN!
