  • Blessings in a Backpack

Our Blessings-in-a-Backpack a program is designed to provide weekend food backpacks to needy students throughout the school district.  We are currently supplying food for 43 children.  No child should ever go hungry so this is such an important and critical mission.

  • Methodist Men's Group

Our Men's Group meets monthly for a Meal, Meeting and Fellowship.  They organize several of our events including the delicious Roast Beef Dinner, Spagetti dinners, auction for our summer Picnic.  Proceeds from those dinners go to support our youth ministry.  The Men's Group also supports the Salvation Army during the holidays ringing the bell.

  • Children Programs

Every Sunday at 9:15 AM our children are dismissed for Sunday school.  We offer classes for ages 3-16.  Nursery care is also available.  We recently had a class of confirmands and are currently working on a youth program.  We also include the confirmands in our services so everyone has a responsibility.  Something fun for all ages.

  • Health Ministries

Health Ministry TEAM's focus is the spiritual, mental and physical health of the congregation.  The TEAM meets a couple of times a year to plan events that promote wellness for our members and the community.  Some of the most recent events have been Blood Pressure Screenings, The Biggest Giver Lenten Challenge and Prayer and Healing Services.

  • Music Ministries

Music is an important part of worship at Cherry Lane Church; and along with traditional organ and piano accompaniment, we also have children and youth vocal selections and host guest musicians from time to time to

enhance our services.  Hymns from the United Methodist Hymnal are chosen based on the liturgical church season, weekly scripture readings, and sermon themes.  Both old-time and newer hymns are sung.

It is with great excitement that The Organ Committee announces that our goal of raising $29,000 needed to purchase our new organ has been achieved!  We thank all those who donated, including members and friends of Cherry Lane. We are grateful and amazed that this happened in such a short period of time.  The organ committee has moved forward with scheduling the delivery and installation of our new Allen Organ. As we welcome the arrival of our new instrument we also officially say goodbye to our current organ which has served us well for the past 27 years ... playing for over 1,400 worship services and many weddings and funerals.  Once the new organ has settled in (including follow up voicing and adjustments by the organ company), we will schedule a Sunday afternoon dedication concert after Easter. Thank you again to ALL who made this dream become a reality in just over three months time. Let us continue to make a joyful noise!

  • Prayer Circle

We all know the power of prayer and we at Cherry Lane have a specific group/team that focuses their prayers for our members and friends.  The Prayer Circle also meet periodically for a very special and spiritual prayer sessions.  All prayer requests are kept confidential within the group unless permission has been given to share with the congregation.  It is so encouraging and uplifting to be able to go to our Lord in prayer.
